PyurÄ“ti is a Los Angeles based singer/songwriter originally from Detroit whose emotional, lyrically driven music has been referred to as melodic, deep, and inspiring.  Since early childhood, PyurÄ“ti has always had a passion for music. At the age of three, she sang in the NAACP Detroit Chapter Awards Banquet and her love for music began. With a focus on harmonious melodies, her music is written to inspire, to be felt and to uplift.

With humble beginnings in Detroit, PyurÄ“ti's mother and father being heavily influenced by the Motown sound shared great music and trivia with her and the rest of her siblings.  Through these moments shared, PyurÄ“ti found that she was quite fond of harmony, lyrical content and song concepts. She began to write songs in elementary school which continued into adult life. Over the years, PyurÄ“ti was a part of many singing groups (Mystiq, Ntriugee, The Oracles) and has gone by other stage names (Black Butterfly, Marie Imaani) but the consistent response to the sound of her voice being "pure" was the driving force behind the name PYURETI.

PyurÄ“ti attended Grand Valley State University in 2005 after graduating from Lewis Cass Technical High School.  She graduated in 2010 with a BBA in Marketing and Sales , along side her sister in spite of a traumatic event that occurred while they were attending college.  Both were honored with a Certificate of Recognition from the State of Michigan House of Representatives.

PyurÄ“ti's love of music runs deep and she has a great appreciation for all genres of music. Her favorite music is embedded with metaphors, thought-provoking concepts and intergalactic sounds. Some of her favorite artists include but are not limited to The Foreign Exchange, Michael Jackson, Lupe Fiasco, Little Dragon,  Aaliyah, and The Internet.
